The Kazakhstan Freight Forwarders Association (KFFA) was established in 1997. Today KFFA unites about 20 full members and 70 associate members. Full members have the right to be elected to the governing bodies and have a casting vote in making decisions on the activities of the Association. KFFA is the only voluntary association of legal entities in Kazakhstan, which is a full member of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA), possessing the right for publication of FIATA documents being widely used by forwarders around the world. As KFFA is an accredited member to the Experts' Council of the Ministry of Industry and Investment Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the working groups of JSC "NK" Kazakhstan Temip Zholy", other agencies and organizations, the business community is involved in the elaboration of transport legislation, solving issues related to eliminating administrative barriers and development of the forwarding business, in the process of implementing sectoral and regional development programs. On the initiative and direct participation of KFFA, projects are being implemented in the field of improving legislation, information technology, developing the forwarding business in the Central Asia region, trainings of forwarders etc.
